How Estate and Probate Attorneys Can Find New Clients in Utah

When someone opens a probate, trust, or guardianship case in Utah, the filing names the person who started it, and the record shows whether they have an attorney. Many do not. These cases are lower in volume than debt or family filings, but each one is a person who has already decided they need legal help.

How many estate and probate cases are filed?

In our own review of one sample week of District Court filings (September 28 to October 2, 2026), estate and probate filings across all types came to roughly 100 to 125 cases statewide. Personal representative cases were the largest share, followed by other probate, adult guardianship, minor guardianship, conservatorship, and trusts. This is our observation of one week, not a published statistic.

What does the record show?

An estate or probate filing lists the petitioner, often an heir or the person named to administer the estate, and may list other heirs and the deceased. It also shows the court, county, filing date, and any attorney of record. In an "other probate" case we reviewed, addresses were listed for the petitioner and several heirs. In a personal representative case, the address fields were present but empty, so addresses vary by case.

Who is the lead?

Revenue Spark treats the petitioner, the person who opened the case, as the lead. It does not sell the deceased, and cases with an attorney of record are left out. Guardianship and conservatorship cases involve people who cannot manage their own affairs, so the lead there is the family member who filed, not the person the case is about.

How do you get estate and probate leads?

Pick the estate categories you handle at signup: probate and estates, trusts, guardianship and conservatorship, and minor's settlements. Each night you receive new petitioners without an attorney in your counties, at $0.50 per lead. Utah estate and probate leads explains each category, how referrals work shows what a delivery looks like, and pricing lists the rate.
