How Many Evictions Are Filed in Utah Courts?
In one sample week of Utah District Court filings (September 28 to October 2, 2026), we counted roughly 150 to 170 eviction cases, about 30 to 35 a day. That is a single week of our own observation, in District Court only, and not a published statistic. Here is how we got it and what it leaves out.
How did we count?
We searched the court's public case search for eviction cases filed that week, statewide, in District Court. The tool returns 50 rows per page and stops at 500. The eviction search returned nine pages, below the cap, so the count was not truncated. Each case has two or more party rows, so we divided the rows by the average number of parties per case to estimate cases. The result carries about a 15% margin.
What does it leave out?
- Other courts. We searched District Court only. Small claims cannot be used to evict, per the court's small claims page, but we did not check whether other courts hear any evictions.
- Other weeks. Evictions may vary by season; one week cannot show that.
- Unfiled disputes. A notice to vacate that never reaches court never appears.
How does it compare to other case types?
In the same week, debt collection cases passed 230 on a single Friday, and workforce services liens ran roughly 150 to 175 for the week. See how debt defense attorneys find clients.
Why does it matter?
It tells you a county-by-county subscription has a steady stream of cases, with each one on a short deadline. See how Utah evictions work and Utah eviction attorney leads, and pricing for the rate.
