How Many Property Cases Are Filed in Utah?
Property and real estate is one of the smallest practice areas we cover. In one sample week of Utah District Court filings, we counted about 15 cases across the property case types we searched. This post shows the numbers and what they leave out.
What did we count?
For the week of September 28 to October 2, 2026, we searched District Court filings by case type. Lien and mortgage foreclosure (LM) came to about 9 cases. Property rights (PR) came to about 4. Writs (WR) returned none. Our method is described in how we counted Utah court cases in our sample week.
What did we not count?
We did not search wrongful lien or fraudulent deed (WG), condemnation (CD), or water rights (WA), all of which sit in the same category. The true weekly total is therefore somewhat higher than 15, by an amount we do not know.
How does that compare?
Much smaller than other areas. The same sample week had roughly 150 to 170 eviction cases and well over a thousand debt-related cases. See how many evictions are filed in Utah.
Is it still worth subscribing?
That depends on your practice. At $0.50 per lead and no retainer, a few leads a month costs very little. But do not expect a steady stream. One week is also a single observation, not a trend.
